Hi there, I’m Isla -
Driven by a passion for impact, I create programs and experiences that build resilience, connection, and well-being. From customized youth programming, community classes in movement and meditation to specialty training and retreats, my work is grounded in helping others live with greater intention and purpose. I am honoured to support individuals and communities in cultivating meaningful, sustainable change.
My wellness journey is deeply rooted in my upbringing in British Columbia, Canada, where a strong connection to nature shaped my early years. Time spent outdoors—exploring coastlines and forests, swimming in lakes and oceans, and engaging in activities such as hiking, skiing, trail running, and camping—instilled a lasting appreciation for movement, balance, and well-being.
I was introduced to mindfulness in my teenage years through the teachings of the Dalai Lama, Dr. Wayne Dyer and Eckhart Tolle, by my father who valued connection and public service. While their impact was not immediately apparent, these early influences laid the foundation for my later work. Like many, I have navigated personal challenges which at times clouded my clarity, but I eventually learned they did not define me.
Through ongoing introspection and professional growth, my philosophy has evolved to centre on gratitude, resilience, and intentional living. Drawing from the guidance of mentors across diverse disciplines, I continue to cultivate a life that is meaningful for my family and I, while supporting others in their own journeys toward well-being. I have been a student of yoga since my early twenties, a lifelong fitness enthusiast, and a mental health advocate all along the way.
Formal training
Post Secondary:
My original path of Economics at Michigan Technological University led me into roles of leadership and management within the private and corporate sector. I spent years traveling the world extensively as a Corporate Flight Attendant with VIP clients in Toronto, Calgary and Vancouver and as a crew member on exclusive yachts based out of S. Florida. However, I am now back at school as a mature student! Currently completing my B.SC 4Yr in Psychology with the ambition to apply to graduate school for a Master of Arts (M.A) in Psychology, with either a focus in Cognition and Neuroscience or the clinical stream. I believe it is never too late to go back to school!
Yoga & Breath Technique:
I am a RYT 500, Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga Instructor with formal in-person training with lead teacher, Emma Korkola, Founder of Yoga Mala, Regina, SK. Emma’s history with a deep personal Ashtanga practice under Pattabhi Jois lineage, Kino McGregor (among others), and her extensive yoga knowledge beyond Asana, offered me an in depth experience that has helped shaped the yoga instructor I am today. Anatomy, alignment and autonomy all are principles I lead my class by, ultimately offering a unique experience that weaves mindfulness and stress reduction techniques such as breathwork throughout. I have been leading Yoga and Meditation in communities across Saskatchewan from 2019-Present. https://yogamala.com/
Meditation & Stress Regulation Technique:
I have completed extensive training (hundreds of hours!) under Mandy Trapp, Founder and Principal Teacher at Lifestyle Meditation in Edmonton, Alberta. My certification includes Advanced Meditation Teacher Training and Advanced Training with Kids & Teens. Mandy’s extensive training under Deepak Chopra, MD and her international course offerings provides her students with essentials for the role of a Meditation Guide. Trauma-informed, science and research backed techniques, these skills have been powerful for both myself and my students. https://mandytrapp.com/
Perfect Health Instructor:
Under the world renowned pioneer of integrative wellness practices at the Chopra Centre for Well-Being in Carlsbad, CA, I have advanced training in Mindfulness and Ayurvedic Practices. And while the “Perfect Health Instructor” certification program has morphed into a new path (Acquisition by Healing Co.) the knowledge I gained and the experiences and training with incredible individuals such as Roger Gabriel have shaped my role as a leader in Meditation and Mindfulness practices. https://rogergabriel.com/
Other certifications:

Boards, Committees & Volunteer:
I currently serve as Treasurer for two local boards and an active member at large for another. Community service is a core value I prioritize. I enjoy working with others to make things happen! You will often find me offering time to schools, clubs and seniors across the province.
